Cotton Floss Machines

Looking at getting candy floss machines?  Candy floss machines are great fun, kids of all ages love cotton candy and even adults can enjoy the machine as well.  When you’re looking at getting one of these machines, you are going to have to decide on whether or not you want a low end or high end one as there is a significant price difference between the two with no middle ground.

The cheaper machines usually go for under $100 while the more expensive professional candy floss machines retail over $500.  The cheaper machines are usually sold as toys and don’t have the sophistication of the more expensive ones.  You’ll still be able to twirl up some cotton candy, but you’ll be doing so with a few restrictions.  A lot of the toy machines take a while to heat up, you’ll likely need to wait 2 minutes or more in order to begin twirling the cotton candy.  This isn’t that big of a deal when you have just a family of 4 eating, but if you have a group of 10-15 people, it can start to become an issue.

Another thing about the toy candy floss machines is that they usually have small bowls and cannot create floss as quickly as the professional models, this means you’re going to have to be patient when creating your candy floss.  This isn’t so bad though the first few times as your children will be so fascinated by the machine and how it works to even notice, as time goes by however, it can become a bit of a drag.

Now another option of course is to go with the more expensive units, these go for $500, $600, $700 or even more.  These are the units that are 30x30x40” and weigh in at 50 pounds.  These machines are 5-6 times as heavy and 3 times as big as the toy variety. 

The good thing about these machines though is that they will last you a long time and they will work great.  They will dish out the floss rapid fire and it will be very easy to twirl up cones the size of your head and kids love getting those humongous sized cotton candy cones!

Now if this is out of your price range, there is one more option that will allow your kids to enjoy the carnival style cotton candy from the expensive machine, you can rent it.  Candy floss machines can be rented for a fraction of the $500 price tag, it’s a great idea to go ahead and do this if you’re only planning on using the machine once or twice a year.
